KATHMANDU β€” Tribhuvan University's Institute of Science and Technology, Dean's Office, Kirtipur, has issued an urgent notice regarding four privately-run colleges affiliated with the university.

According to the notice, it has been decided that the colleges, namely Birat Multiple College in Biratnagar, Dharan Bahumukhi Campus in Dharan, Nilgiri College in Sunsari, and Nagarik College in Nawalparasi, will not be allowed to admit new students in the B.Tech. (Food Technology) program for the academic year 2082/083. These institutions have been running the B.Tech (Food Technology) academic program with affiliation from Tribhuvan University at the private level.

The Standing Committee of the Academic Council of the institute made this decision on July 21, 2025 (2082/04/06). This decision has been made because it was found that these colleges admitted students in the academic year 2081/082 who had not even appeared in the entrance examination conducted by this institute, in violation of Tribhuvan University rules and regulations. This notice has been published to inform all relevant parties of this decision.
