Ministry Orders Suspension of Operations in Four Universities Over Violation

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has ordered the University Grants Commission to suspend various activities in four universities across the nation. The directive, aimed at actions related to affiliation, appointments, program expansions, and more, comes as a response to observed violations within the academic institutions.

Specifically, the Ministry has directed the Commission to cease such operations in Mid-West University, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University and Far-Western University. It has been noted that these universities have reportedly breached established procedures and standards concerning appointments, promotions, examinations, and the expansion of academic offerings.

To ensure coordinated efforts, a special coordination committee comprising representatives from the Ministry has been established. This committee is tasked with submitting comprehensive reports and overseeing necessary measures until further arrangements are made.

Notably, all promotions, appointments, affiliations, and expansions of academic programs have been temporarily halted, extending beyond the jurisdiction of the respective university's Service Commission. The Commission has received a formal communication outlining the suspension and associated protocols.

This directive, including detailed instructions, was issued by the Commission on Magh 02, following decisions made by high-ranking authorities, including Vice-Chancellors and Ministerial-level officials.
