Ministry Directs Center To Supply Books To Schools In Chaitra

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has instructed Janak Education Materials Center Limited to ensure the supply of textbooks to schools at the local level within the month of Chaitra.

The Ministry has tasked the Center, responsible for printing 1.75 crore books for classes 5 to 10, with ensuring that textbooks are delivered to students for the upcoming academic session starting on the 2nd of Baisakh, 2081. Similarly, the private sector, responsible for printing textbooks for classes 1 to 4, has received similar instructions.

Anil Kumar Jha, Director of Janak Education, noted that the center is still responsible for printing the remaining 1.6 million textbooks. He mentioned that, excluding the seven provinces, the printed books will be distributed daily from distribution centers and offices.

He also stated that, in line with the ministry's directive, textbook distribution will commence in municipalities from Chaitra 15, guaranteeing an adequate supply of books.

The management director outlined that book supply will occur in phases: first in Himalayan regions, then in hilly areas, followed by the Terai region, and finally in provincial districts.

He also indicated that, as per the ministry's guidance, the center is actively engaged in supplying books to all local levels until the end of Chaitra.

Furthermore, the ministry has mandated the center to provide daily progress updates on textbook printing and distribution by 7 p.m.

Prior to this, on Chaitra 1, Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Sumana Shrestha had inquired about the status of book printing and instructed the commencement of the distribution campaign to ensure textbooks reach students promptly.
