Lord Buddha Education Foundation, Nepal's pioneering IT college, was inaugurated in 1998. Today, as it celebrates an impressive 25 years of academic excellence, a special event is underway to mark this silver jubilee. This celebration will feature the distinguished presence of Vice President Ram Sahaya Yadav and the Honorable Pramila Kumari, Federal Minister of State for Education, Science, and Technology.
At the event, Vice President Ram Shahaya Yadav expressed his deep appreciation for the outstanding contributions of LBEF in advancing the realm of information technology on behalf of the private sector. He also shared his delight upon discovering that the Foundation has been actively promoting women's education by providing free schooling to one woman from each of the seven provinces for the past four years.
Addressing the audience, Education Minister Pramila Kumari conveyed her optimistic aspirations for the successful realization of the initiative, which shares a similar vision and philosophy. She lauded the organization for its impressive accomplishments, underscoring that more than 12,000 individuals have received education through this program and have assumed leadership roles in both domestic and international institutions.
During this gathering, various prominent figures, including Professor Dr. Bhola Thapa, the Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Rajendra Khetan, President of the Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce, and Mahendra Prasad Singh, former Director of Education, discussed the substantial contributions made by the Foundation. Additionally, Datuk Parmjit Singh, serving as the Chief of Asia Pacific University in Malaysia, also provided insights into the Foundation's impact and contributions.
Located opposite the Maitidevi Temple in Kathmandu, the LBEF Campus offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in affiliation with the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation in Malaysia. Established in 1998, it received official recognition from the Ministry of Education (MoE) in 2004 and hosted Nepal's first graduation ceremony for a foreign university in 2010. Collaborative academic programs with APU began in 2015, and in 2016, the Patan College for Professional Studies (PCPS) was established. In 2023, the campus proudly celebrates 25 years of delivering academic excellence.
During this auspicious occasion, the campus pays tribute to the late founder of LBEF Campus, Parmanand Kejriwal (1955-2021), a pioneer in IT education in Nepal. They reaffirm their commitment to following the path he showed and continue to serve humanity by assisting underprivileged sections of society.
LBEF Campus embarked on its mission guided by four core values: activism, courage, effectiveness, and futurism. These principles have been the cornerstone of the institution's success, unwaveringly upheld throughout its history and into the future.
From its humble beginnings in informal education focused on travel information technology, the campus transitioned to formal education. Establishing formal education in information technology in Nepal presented challenges, but their determination was limitless, even in the face of limited resources.
In addition to their dedication to formal education, the campus has also offered free training programs, with a special focus on empowering women. This initiative aligns with the campus's mission of making quality education accessible to all. Through their steadfast commitment, LBEF has contributed more than 12,000 skilled and qualified professionals to the job market, both domestically and internationally. These alumni have achieved prominence and earned respect, enhancing their quality of life.
