Mahendranagar (Dhanusha), May 12: Staff of Janaki Medical College Teaching Hospital based in Ramdaiya of Kshireshwornath Municipality-2 in Dhanusha have again gone on a strike, citing they have not been paid for the past 15 months. They have halted all services, except the emergency from today.

Prior to this, the Thursday meeting of hospital staff including teachers and doctors decided to be available for only emergency services in a bid to exert pressure on the hospital management to provide their payment which is due for the past 15 months. They have also demanded an increment in the salary chart as per the revised scale.

The hospital staff accused the hospital of labour exploitation.

They have warned to shut down the emergency services from May 16 if their demands continued to fall on deaf ears, according to Employees Welfare Struggle Committee Chair Makehswor Yadav.

It is noted that Janaki Medical City Hospital operated by the College at Brhamapuri has remained shut for the past four months as its staffs are not paid for months.

There are over 400 employees in the College. RSS
