Dr. Shanta Dixit Named Edusanjal's Person of the Month

Dr. Shanta Dixit, the Rato Bangla Foundation's founder and director, has been named Edusanjal's Person of the Month for December 2021. She was recognized for her substantial contributions to education in Nepal.

A letter of praise and insignia were presented to Dixit during an event in honour of the new dimension she has brought to education. Since February 1992, Dr. Dixit has served as the founder and director of Rato Bangla School. She coordinated the Primary Teacher Training Program, which was jointly run by Kathmandu University and Bank Street College of Education in New York. The program has created and executed long-term and short-term training packages for practice teaching through multiple networks. She has been working in several districts with Rato Bangla in myriad of projects to provide quality education to children all throughout the country.

She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Bright Horizon Children's Home, which was founded in 2000 with the goal of educating economically underprivileged children, particularly orphans. She also has a long history of writing on education and community issues in newspapers and periodicals.

She received her PhD in epidemiology from Columbia University School of Public Health, New York. She also holds a Master's degree in Public Health (Population and Family Health and Epidemiology) from Columbia University School of Public Health, New York. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University, New York. She cleared the proficiency certificate level from Amrit Science Campus in 1976.
