South Asian Institute of Management (SAIM) is an independent, academic institution established in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2005 to provide need-based management education and engage in management development, research and consulting to facilitate the growth and development of managers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders in South Asia which is emerging as the most dynamic Asian regional economic center for global trade, investment and technology innovation. SAIM offers MBA (Global Business) and BBA programs under affiliation from Pokhara University.

One of the major strengths of SAIM College is its faculty members who are well-qualified and experienced with adequate exposure to their areas and remain constantly updated at their expertise through research, consulting, and training. The faculty aims to help the students explore the latest management thinking so they gain knowledge, skills, and insight into all critical areas of general management. Inviting CEOs as visiting faculty from business houses and reputed academic institutions from home and abroad to share their experiences with the students and provide them practical insight into managerial problems is a common practice at SAIM.

Salient features

  1. Placements and Endeavors
    The technical competencies imparted and the personality virtues accentuated by SAIM has helped lead its graduates to a diversified platter of jobs and employers after or even before graduation.
  2. Career Counseling and Placement Cell
    The objective of Career Counseling is to help graduate’s identify the most appropriate career choice for them, considering them personality and interest and to assist them to make a successful transition from school to real job market. Through it’s corporate linkages, the Career Counseling and Placement cell also facilitates placement of its graduates.

Admission guidelines

The admission process at SAIM college involves:

  1. Submission of complete application form, two letters of recommendations and transcripts of all previous degrees (SLC onwards) along with payment of the admission test fee within the date specified. The candidates, who are given provisional admission under special condition, are required to submit all necessary documents within a month of the beginning of regular classes. Otherwise, the admission will be cancelled
  2. Taking Admission Test administered by the College. Applicants are tested for their aptitude to study management through a written Admission Test administered by the University/College. The test is designed to assess the applicants’ ability in verbal and quantitative reasoning and proficiency in English language.
  3. Personal Interview. After the applicants are short-listed on the basis of their score in the admission test and previous academic achievements, they are required to appear for a personal interview.
