Salient Features

1. Placements and Endeavors

The technical competencies imparted and the personality virtues accentuated by SAIM have helped lead its graduates to a diversified platter of jobs and employers after or even before graduation.

2. Career Counseling and Placement Cell

The objective of Career Counseling is to help graduates identify the most appropriate career choice for them, considering their personality and interest, and to assist them to make a successful transition from school to the real job market. Through its corporate linkages, the Career Counseling and Placement cell also facilitates the placement of its graduates.

3. SAIM Entrepreneurship Club

The SAIM Student Society is the governing student body at the South Asian College of Management. It is an initiative of the students, established with the vision of promoting a cooperative culture among students and enhancing their leadership skills. The purpose of the Student Society is to further the best interests of all students at the college through student representation in matters affecting student life and affairs by promoting and supervising club activities and improving community relations. SAIM Student Society supports the overall development of students by engaging them in various activities relating to business, sports, culture, and career. Realizing the necessity for student self-governance, the SAIM Student Society was officially founded in 2010.

The SAIM Student Society consists of 18 members; 10 members are elected from the election between the students and these students will represent the core member of the Society, and the rest 8 members will be the class representatives of their respective classes. SAIM Student Society will be led by the President of the society, who will have a tenure of 1 Year for the operation.

Keeping this in mind SAIM Alumni Association will help the pass-out students of SAIM College to stay connected. The Alumni Association is the governing body under the SAIM College. Research and Consulting

SAIM has been providing consulting services to the government and other national and international agencies. In the past,

SAIM has provided consulting services to the Ministry of General Administration of the Government of Nepal, which focused on the structural redesign of the ministry. Similarly, SAIM reviewed the organizational structure of the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF), an autonomous body supported by the World Bank that implements poverty alleviation programs in Nepal.

For the South Asia Enterprise Development Facility (SEDF), a multi-donor funded, IFC managed, regional initiative based in Bangladesh, SAIM assessed and identified potential SMEs in Nepal for future support and development. In the recent past,

SAIM has conducted numerous training in such areas as customer service management, valuation of securities, evaluation of mutual funds, understanding derivates, sales management, customer service management, and consulting skills. Various organizations ranging from commercial banks, financial institutions, the Central Bank of Nepal, and manufacturing companies have participated in and benefited from this training.

Admission Guidelines

SAIM chooses applicants who can demonstrate their leadership potentials and can make a difference in the marketplace by their true abilities and skills. SAIM focus on a candidate who has a clear mission and vision about their road to success and SAIM add value in their path. We believe in our environment, students are willing to learn continuously and make a difference.

If you are the one, the following students can apply for the program:

MBA (Global Business)             

  1. Students from any stream who have completed a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level with a minimum of 50% overall aggregate score or at least 2.0 CGPA may apply for the program.

  2. Students who have successfully completed all the semester/year (with 50% or above) and are awaiting final semester/year results may apply for admission on a provisional basis.

  3. Candidates are required to pass the PUMAT examination. Candidates shall also appear in the in-person interview to be eligible to get admission to MBA (Global Business) program. 

BBA              

  • Students from any stream who have completed Grade 11 or equivalent level with a minimum of 50% overall aggregate score may apply for the program.

  • GCE A-level students must have cleared at least 3 Advanced Level Courses.

  • Students who have successfully completed Grade 11 (with 50% or above) and are awaiting Grade 12 results may apply for admission on a provisional basis.      

 

Admission Process for BBA

To apply for admissions, you can do either of the following:

  1. Visit the college, obtain the form, complete it and submit it to the college with all the required documents.
  2. Students from any stream who have completed a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level with a minimum of 50% overall aggregate score or at least 2.0 CGPA may apply for the program.
  3. Students who have successfully completed all the semester/year (with 50% or above) and are awaiting final semester/year results may apply for admission on a provisional basis.
  4. To apply for admissions, you can do either of the following:
  5. Students from any stream who have completed Grade 11 or equivalent level with a minimum of 50% overall aggregate score may apply for the program.
  6. GCE A-level students must have cleared at least 3 Advanced Level Courses.
  7. Students who have successfully completed Grade 11 (with 50% or above) and are awaiting Grade 12 results may apply for admission on a provisional basis
  8. Transcripts and certificates of Grade 12 or equivalent examinations
  9. Certificate and transcript of Grade 10 (SLC or equivalent)
  10. Character certificate (SLC and Grade 12)
  11. Provisional certificate
  12. Migration certificate
  13. Citizenship certificate or Passport Document

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

SAIM offers tuition waivers to students who top their class based on the results of the end-term examinations. This is however valid for the particular term only. Besides, the college also provides few scholarships to deserving students. 

Students having achievement in sports/music/arts are also provided with scholarships subject to qualifying criteria set by the college.

ABOUT US

South Asian Institute of Management (SAIM) is located at Old Baneshwor, Kathmandu. It is an independent, academic institution established in 2005 to provide need-based management education.

The college focuses on management development, research, and consultation to facilitate the growth and development of managers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders in South Asia as it is emerging as the most dynamic Asian regional economic centre for global trade, investment, and technology innovation. 

SAIM offers MBA (Global Business) and BBA programs under affiliation from Pokhara University established to provide world-class management education and training to meet the demands and needs of the nations, regionally as well as globally.

One of the major strengths of SAIM College is its faculty members who are well-qualified and experienced with adequate exposure to their areas and remain constantly updated at their expertise through research, consulting, and training. The faculty aims to help the students explore the latest management thinking so they gain knowledge, skills, and insight into all critical areas of general management. Inviting CEOs as visiting faculty from business houses and reputed academic institutions from home and abroad to share their experiences with the students and provide them practical insight into managerial problems is a common practice at SAIM.

We at SAIM are providing rigorous training to prepare our students to become successful managers and entrepreneurs. We encourage internalized learning through the modern and well-accepted teaching methods using business cases and analytical techniques applicable worldwide to make our students proficient in extending these concepts to the real world. We believe firmly that our highly committed and outstanding faculty with a combination of education and business experience imparts relevant and contemporary knowledge to our students. This knowledge can be fully utilized not only in Nepal but in the entire South Asian region where rapid economic growth and the enormous population presents immense potential in the coming decades
