The labs are equipped with a Tablet hardness tester (Monsanto), PCR, Double-beam UV Visible Spectrophotometer, High-Speed Refrigerated Centrifuge, Autoclave, Freezer (-20°C), pH meter, Micropipettes, Incubators, Laminar flow, Electronic Balance, Microscopes, Heating Block, Centrifuges, Hot plates with stirrers, Dissolution test apparatus, Disintegration test apparatus, 10-station compression machine, Double cone blender, Water Bath Shakers, and more. Additionally, the college has an air-conditioned tissue culture laboratory, library, seminar room, and a computer laboratory with internet access.

Seminar

All students are required to attend and actively participate in seminars organized by the college. Each year, every student must present at least four research papers assigned to them, with critical assessments. Skills and the quality of the presentations will be evaluated.

Admission Guidelines

BCA

Admission of eligible candidate will be on the basis of score obtained on entrance test conducted by Dean’s office, Tribhuvan University and performance in personal interview. The entrance test consists of English 40%, Mathematics 50% and General Knowledge 10%. Students must secure at least 40 % score in the test in order to qualify for interview. The interview will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. Candidates who pass the entrance exam taken by university will be interviewed and the selected candidate from interview will be eligible for admission. There are 35 quotas for admission in BCA

BBM

Eligible applicants are required to appear in the entrance  test commonly known as Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by the Faculty of Management. The test will follow the international testing pattern and standards. It includes the areas like:

  • Verbal ability
  • Quantitative ability
  • Logical reasoning
  • General awareness

There shall be altogether one hundred (100) objective questions in the CMAT containing twenty (25) questions in each section with a total weight of 100 marks. Student must secure a minimum of 40% in the CMAT in order to qualify for the interview.

B Pharmacy

Students are required to follow all the process given by Medical Education Commission

BTech Food

All applicants must take the entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Science and Technology (loST), Tribhuvan University A passing score in the entrance exam is mandatory.

The university will release a merit list based on entrance exam performance. Those on the merit list can seek admission to Tribhuvan University, its constituent campuses, and affiliated private colleges according to their ranking.

MBS

Applicants for the MBS program must complete the application with all personal information and past academic records. Student selection will be based on the CMAT, which follows the GMAT and GRE formats. The admission test will focus on verbal ability, quantitative ability, business and economics, and general awareness. The CMAT will consist of a total of 100 questions, with 25 questions in each section. Applicants must secure a minimum of 40 percent on the CMAT to qualify for admission.

MSc Microbiology

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Tribhuvan University or an equivalent degree from a recognized college/university.
  • Applicants are required to take and pass the entrance examination conducted by the Central Department of Microbiology (CDM).
  • Admission is based on a merit list formed by combining 80% of the entrance exam marks and 20% of the Bachelor of Science in Microbiology marks.
  • Candidates failing to meet the minimum qualifying pass marks set by CDM will not be admitted.
  • Admission is divided into 80% free competition and 20% reserved for inclusivity in Tribhuvan University and its constituent colleges.
  • The entrance exam is a 2-hour test, and detailed information can be found on the CDM website

MSc Biotechnology

Students interested in pursuing the M.Sc. in Biotechnology program should have Bachelor degree in Science with biological science and chemistry and a bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Agricultural Science, Biotechnology, Medical Lab, Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Environmental Science (with Biological science and Chemistry) and Food Technology. Applicants must have to secure minimum of fifty percent marks. Applicants who fulfill these criteria are allowed to sit in the entrance exam.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

National College has a policy to offer a special scholarship to students graduating from educational institutions governed by NIST. The NACOL board has decided to award scholarships to high-achieving students. Therefore, students who score more than a B grade in Commerce, Humanities, and Science in their +2 or equivalent exams are eligible for the scholarship schemes (see attached sheet for details). Recipients of the scholarship must pass the internal examinations conducted by the college; otherwise, the scholarship may be revoked at any time.

  1. Waive off to 10 percent students as per T.U policy.
  2. 50% tuition fee waiver to the semester-end topper

B Pharmacy

  • Provides 10% scholarship as government process
  • Each student must carry out a research project on given topic to complete this program. Potential student may receive research grants/support from NAST, UGC or National or International agencies. In this concern, college will explore possibilities and also provide necessary assistance to the students.
  • Scholarship of excellence will be awarded to the meritorious students in terms of :
    • Class topper will be given 50% scholarship in the next year.
    • 80% scholarship will be awarded to TU board topper

Objectives of NIST

  1. To make the students full aware about the principles of management, medical &food science and IT concept.
  2. To help the students apply the managerial principles and other knowledge acquired in the classroom into practice through real life business and other laboratory case studies, short term field work, market research activities and defined project work.

  4. To help demonstrate the proficiency in the skills required for front and middle level managers through application of leadership styles, paper presentation, role playing and research and practical research works.
