ABOUT
Institute of Forestry operates at two separate campuses, Institute of Forestry Pokhara Campus is one of them, next being the Hetauda Campus. The Institute of Forestry, Pokhara Campus (IOF-PC), was established in 1981 as the Central Campus of the Institute of Forestry.
Institute of Forestry Pokhara Campus was founded to meet the growing demands for skilled and competent natural resource managers in Nepal. It is running 4 years B.Sc Forestry program, In 2004 it started Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs in 2004 and has been offering courses for (a) M.Sc. in Forestry, (b) M.Sc. in Watershed Management, and (c) M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management and Rural Development.
The IOF-PC has also been facilitating Doctoral Program in Forestry run under the IOF Dean’s Office. Beside regular academic programs, it also conducts short-term national and international training and workshops in forestry and allied subjects.
The Mission
The IOF-PC is committed to providing quality education in Forestry and Natural Resource Management to graduate and undergraduate students, enabling them to make a difference through technically sound and competent and socially amiable and yielding services to the nation and the world in this area. The IOF-PC endeavors to develop itself as a Center of Excellence in forestry education.
Objective
To produce competent, efficient and practically oriented forest and natural resource professionals through well-structured educational programs run in an academic environment conducive to effective teaching, learning and research in order to address practical problems and current needs and interest of the nation and the world in forestry and allied fields
