ABOUT
Global College of Social Science and Technology, formerly known as the College of Development Studies (CDS), is affiliated with Purbanchal University and has been offering a Masters in Development Studies (MDevS) since January 2006. MDevS is a multidisciplinary course that blends theory with practice, helping students recognize gaps at both policy and academic levels. By following a participatory learning approach, the college imparts knowledge in a manageable and effortlessly comprehensible way.
Students in Nepal often face difficulty adapting to real-world situations even after obtaining a postgraduate degree. This issue arises mainly because of a significant educational system flaw, which fails to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Global College of Social Science and Technology aims to narrow this gap with its intensive participatory methods, frequent field visits, discussions, seminars, and workshops. It helps students understand scenarios, identify core problems and issues, and guide them in analyzing situations on a case-by-case basis. The college aims to produce change agents for society who are capable of comprehending development problems and contributing to social and economic development.
