Central Department of Geography is one of the leading Departments of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Tribhuvan University. It is located in University Campus, Kirtipur. It was formally established in 1958.
Since then, it has been actively serving the country in higher education and research. The Department runs regular Master’s and Ph.D. program in Geography. Every year more than twenty-five candidates graduate from the department. It is also a pioneer institution running professional level Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing (GIS/RS) training in the country.
