British Gurkha College (BGC), an English medium College, established in 2000 AD affiliated to TU, has successfully completed its journey of 18 years in the field of Education, has produced competent professionals as demand of the contemporary world for different stream of higher studies. The college has maintained advanced education to meet the challenges of present days as well as to make education complete in concept and substance so that a student comes to enjoy great success and academic performance in life.

British Gurkha College offers a unique opportunity to study and work simultaneously. Due to the dedication of the faculty members, members of the staff, and the hard work of the learners, the success rate of the students is always very high. Every year, five of its learners are being awarded the college best Medal for their outstanding performance in the colleges different activities.

The great demand from students, guardians and its well-wishers encouraged and inspired the College Management to conduct a Bachelor s degree. As a result, a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) was introduced in 2003 A.D. affiliating to T.U. Further, Bachelor s of Arts(B.A.) has been introduced in 2006 A.D. Thus, BGC offers the offers Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) programs. In near future, the college also has a plan to extend its Bachelor's program in various areas like BBA and B.Sc.

Facilities

Classroom: Classrooms are well furnished, clean, bright, spacious, and ventilated. Facilities of overhead and slide projectors are available in the classrooms. Besides, the number of students in each class is limited to thirty at the most.

Laboratories

Science Lab: British Gurkha College has three subject wise laboratories. Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which are equipped with necessary science instruments and apparatus. All students are required to perform different practical experiments designed for them.

Hotel Management Lab: British Gurkha College has a separate and well-equipped Hotel Management Laboratory which is fully conducted by the professional faculty Head. We have our own restaurant and a kitchen in which we conduct both food and beverages demonstration such as types of cocktail and foods. Apart from this, we involve the students in field visit to renowned hotels for the advance knowledge of practical.

Games and Sport:An experienced physical education teacher leads this department. British Gurkha College has its own playgrounds for Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball and Table Tennis. The college administration enforces PT and games for all hostellers and day scholars by organizing inter-house tournaments, trekking, picnics and educational tours, project works, camping, sightseeing, case study etc. British Gurkha College organizes sports week and involves the students in different games for competition.

LibraryBritish Gurkha College hosts a modern library with different books and periodicals of relevant fields. The students can have easy access to advanced references and text books, including literature. It includes stock and reading rooms.

Computer Lab: British Gurkha College has a well-equipped computer lab with sufficient number of computers with internet facility.

CafeteriaA well-furnished separate hall, equipped with electric water filter system, exist for the college canteen. Wholesome vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are provided to the students by the college mess, which is managed by an able and qualified Mess Manager. Lunch and refreshments facilities are provided to the staff and students on reasonable pay. Students can enter the cafeteria only in break hours.

Transportation

The college provides transport facilities for the needy students. Transportation fee is charged monthly and it is in accordance with eh distance between the pick-up and drop off points of students.

Extra-Curricular Activities

All students are encouraged to participate in inter faculty and inter college competitions, e.g. essay-writings, poetry writings, public speaking, elocution, debate, quiz etc. All the activities are conducted by student council ECA department. The winners are awarded with prizes and certificates in the annual functions.

Tour and ExcursionA well organized educational tour will be arranged once a year for the students of higher secondary level. The college organizes visit programs to different places which have cultural and historical importance from time to time.

Medical

British Gurkha College has a well equipped M.I. Room with sufficient First -Aid medicines which are operated by a professional CMA lady. The college maintains a high standard of hygiene and sanitation.

British Gurkha College has a provision for scholarship and concession for outstanding and deserving students. It has special provision for the children of security personnel and differently able students.
