Birgunj Nursing Campus, located in Madhesh Province, Birgunj Metropolitan City, Birta – 4, has been a prominent institution in nursing education since its establishment in 2032 BS (1975 AD). Originally started as the AHW/CMA (Community Medicine Auxiliary) program, it later became a part of Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine (T.U.IOM) as Birgunj Campus in 2033 BS.

Over its >43 years of existence, Birgunj Nursing Campus has achieved significant progress and has expanded its academic programs from Community Medicine to the Bachelor of Nursing Science. The campus is dedicated to further advancing higher education in Nursing Science and currently offers two nursing education programs: BSc Nursing and Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNS). It initiated the Proficiency Certificate Level Nursing Program (PCL) in 2043 BS, Bachelor in Nursing (BN) program began in 2068 BS, and the intake for BNS students started in 2073 BS.

The vision of Birgunj Nursing Campus is to produce nursing personnel of the highest academic excellence and gain recognition as a prestigious nursing institute in Madhesh Province, contributing to achieving universal health goals and meeting Sustainable Development Goals.

The campus's mission is to create and maintain a learning environment that nurtures critical thinking, knowledge acquisition, and the development of ongoing professional skills. It aims to transform care in a rapidly changing, diverse, and complex healthcare environment through academic excellence, innovative research, strong partnerships, and global initiatives.

To accomplish its mission and fulfill its vision, Birgunj Nursing Campus has set strategic goals. These goals include delivering high-quality nursing education that meets international standards and promoting quality education through faculty development initiatives.

The campus also strives to produce competent mid-level healthcare professionals who are well-prepared to work efficiently in their assigned areas and adapt to the challenges of a growing world. Additionally, it aims to upgrade and update its academic infrastructure, including library and IT facilities, to support the delivery of quality education.
