Vacancy for General Surgeon - UNDOF Syria

The UNDOF Mission in Syria is seeking to appoint a General Surgeon (Level 1) through a military service contract. This opportunity is open for Nepali citizens who wish to serve in this role for a duration of one year.

Essential Qualifications

1. Educational Qualification
   • Applicants must have successfully completed an MS in General Surgery.
2. Physical Qualification
   • For Males: Height should be at least 5 feet 2 inches, chest measurements between 22-24 inches, and weight should be 50 kilograms (1990 pounds)
   • For Females: Height should be 5 feet, and weight should be 40 kilograms.

3. If candidates wear glasses, their eyesight should not be weaker than -2.

4. Other Qualifications

   • Applicants should not have a criminal record involving embezzlement, should not be affiliated with any political organization, and should not have been found guilty of violating human rights and humanitarian laws.

5. Age Limit (as of the last date of application submission):

   • For Males: Minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age is 45 years.

   • For Females: Minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age is 43 years.

Required Documents

Candidates should ensure that they provide certified copies in Nepali along with the original documents.

1. Certificate of Nepalese citizenship.
2. Provisional or original certificates of MBBS and MS General Surgery, along with character certificate and eligibility letter.
3. Certificates from the Nepal Medical Council for both MBBS and MS General Surgery.
4. Certificates of experience, demonstrating a minimum of two (2) years of progressive practice in the surgical specialty before deployment.
5. For candidates with degrees from foreign boards and universities (other than the University of Nepal), a certificate of equivalency from Tribhuvan University should be submitted.
6. A recent passport-sized photograph of the candidate with a clear view of the full face (including ears), with four copies in Kamadi attire and short hair cut, and one 2x2 size photo should be submitted along with the application.
