Upallo Tamghas Secondary School

Shree Upallo Tamghas Secondary School, a government institution founded in 1974 A.D. (2031 B.S.), aims to deliver high-quality education to its students. Situated in Ward No. 9 of Resunga Municipality, Gulmi district, Province No. 5, Nepal, the school is renowned for its inclusive approach, offering classes for differently-abled (intellectually disabled and deaf or hard-of-hearing) students alongside regular classes. Serving economically disadvantaged and remote students, Upallo Tamghas Secondary School provides both General and Technical Education (Agricultural Science - Plant Science) for secondary level students (class 9-12). Presently, the school employs 26 teaching and 5 non-teaching staff members.

Located within the scenic landscape of the Tamghas valley, surrounded by Resunga hill to the east, Arjun hill to the west, Tamghas bazaar to the north, and Dhikura Khola of Cheteneta to the south, the school is nestled in a rural setting, experiencing cold winters and moderate summers at an altitude of approximately 1500 meters above sea level.

The relationship between Shree Upallo Tamghas Secondary School and the local community has been symbiotic from its inception. Serving a vast and scattered service area, encompassing approximately 2500 people from 500 households, the community comprises individuals of various castes and religions, unified by the Nepali language. Engaged in diverse sectors such as business, service, foreign employment, and agriculture, the community has been integral to the economic, physical, and educational development of the area since the school's establishment.

In accordance with the regulations of the Government of Nepal, the school operates School Management Committee and Parent Teacher's Association, pivotal for its successful operation. These committees, comprising active members of the local community, play a crucial role in making major legal decisions and amendments, ensuring the active involvement and support of the community in the school's affairs. Additionally, the school's expansive area benefits from the contributions of the wider society, further cementing the bond between the school and its community.
