Shiva Basic School

Shiva Basic School is a public school nestled in the scenic hills of Phaktanglung, Phungling-1, Taplejung district, within Koshi Province of Nepal. Established in 2035 BS, the school has been serving the local community with foundational education from Nursery to Grade 8, catering primarily to children from surrounding rural and mountainous areas. 

Being a public institution, it emphasizes equitable access to learning, particularly for children from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds in the remote parts of Taplejung. The school operates with a commitment to building strong academic foundations while encouraging physical, social, and creative growth. 

The school regularly organizes free health camps to monitor and promote student well-being. A vibrant range of extra and co-curricular activities, including regular sports and educational tours, helps students develop teamwork, discipline, and practical knowledge beyond the classroom. To ensure no child is left behind due to financial constraints, the school provides scholarship facilities and maintains affordable fees. 

As per the 2081 IEMIS report published by the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, Shiva Basic School has 59 enrolled students.
