Lumbini World School

Located between the two large cities of Butwal and Bhairahawa in the Lumbini Province, Lumbini World School (LWS) is an activity-based learning centre established in 2021 A.D. It offers life-changing education with a unique teaching style and world-class educational facilities. The school’s motto focuses on transforming teaching and learning methods to achieve academic innovations that challenge traditional educational practices. This includes moving away from rote memorization, textbook-driven instruction, conventional teaching techniques, and insufficient student evaluation and feedback.

Serving students from Pre-School to Grade 10, LWS adapts the 5E (Engagement, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) Teaching and Learning Model, offering multi-dimensional skill-building opportunities to the students who require support from skilled teachers and mentors to acquire post-secondary education prospects, career opportunities, and lead an independent life. LWS employs a modern teaching-learning approach that merges traditional principles with a contemporary understanding of our roles as global citizens. The teaching methodologies include: 

• Field trips, outdoor sessions, and workshops are organized, providing opportunities for children to reach their full potential.
• Group-based extracurricular activities are conducted based on individual students’ strengths and interests. 
• English literature classes for grades 4 to 10 are conducted by instructors who speak English at a native-like level.
• Innovative Home Learning Activities are designed to encourage quality time between parents and children while also promoting active engagement in learning
• TFW (Talk for Writing), an interactive method for teaching English literature, is implemented in the English classes.
• The EAL (English as an Additional Language) team diligently works with grades 1, 2, and 3 to establish a solid foundation in the English language.
• Each class is supported by a full-time teacher and a teaching assistant throughout the lesson.
• A variety of indoor and outdoor resources are utilized as teaching aids to meet the diverse needs of every student in each lesson.
• A range of supplementary materials is employed to comprehensively address all aspects of the lesson to the students. Each lesson is crafted to promote inquiry-based learning, accompanied by rubrics for each topic.
•  In grades 1, 2, and 3, core subjects are taught by a dedicated specialized teacher.
