Kapilvastu Municipality is one of the 10 municipalities in Kapilvastu District of Lumbini Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 88,874, comprising 43,998 males (49.5%) and 44,876 females (50.5%), with a literacy rate of 73.07%.
