Guru Secondary School in Bihi VDC, Mugu, has been named the best community school of the mid-western region in 2073 BS. According to the District Education Office, Guru Secondary School has shown an outstanding performance compared to other community schools in the region.
The evaluation was based on the results of school leaving certificate (SLC) examinations for the year 2072 BS. The school has been producing 100 percent pass rate in the SLC exams for the past five years. There are 447 students studying in the Guru Secondary School at present. Children from neighbouring Shreenagar, Kalkhe, Dhainakot, Natharpu VDCs also go to the school.
School Headmaster Liladhar Sharma said the teachers and the students are all pleased to achieve the distinction of best community school in the region. Ummer Bhumi, one of the teachers, said they have been encouraged to strive to become better in the future.
There are 95 primary schools, 22 secondary schools and 24 lower secondary schools in the Mugu district.
