The government of Nepal allocates 1310 seats for candidates who want to pursue Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) in Nepal. In 2023, the government allocated 492 seats for students who wish to study BNS in Nepal.
Available BNS scholarship seats are divided into the general scholarship (55%,i.e., 270 seats) and the reservation scholarship (45%, i.e., 222 seats). In both categories, the candidates are selected purely based on merit within this cluster.
For example, for general scholarship, 270 highest-ranking students in the MECEE-BL for BNS program are chosen irrespective of gender, religion, and ethnicity. For reservation, the competition will be only among the eligible clusters of students in each sub-category. For example, four students who are Muslim female will be selected to study Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) based on the merit list.
Nursing Colleges affiliated with four Universities (KU, TU, Purbanchal, and Pokhara) and six health science academies (PAHS, KAHS, NAMS, MIHS, Pokhara Academy, and Rapti Academy) offer Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNS) programs in Nepal.
