Notice Regarding Chief of Army Staff Scholarship

  1. This notice is published for the information of all concerned regarding the provision of the Chief of Army Staff Scholarship for the academic year 2080 (2023-2024) under various programs run by the Army Welfare Fund.
  2. Scholarship Details:

(a) Scholarship Amount: A lump sum of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) per student annually.

(b) Eligible Students: Two children (between 6 and 18 years old, not exceeding 18) of soldiers who died either in combat or while performing their duties, and who are studying outside of military boarding schools and empanelled schools, will receive an annual amount of Rs. 20,000/- (only two students).(c) Class Studying In: Grades 1 to 12.(d) Student Age: Must be between 6 and 18 years old (not exceeding 18).

3. Details of Students Eligible for the Scholarship:

(a) Must be the biological son or daughter of Nepali Army soldiers who died in combat or while performing their duties.

(b) Only up to two children of beneficiaries will receive the scholarship.

(c) Copy of the mark sheet and character certificate from the academic year 2080 (2023-2024) for students studying in government community and institutional private schools.

(d) Must be studying in a school or college recognized by the Government of Nepal.

(e) Students studying in colleges/schools/empanelled schools run on the budget of the Welfare Fund (including colleges run under the Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences) (except for those with full or partial scholarship) or those studying under the civilian quota must submit a recommendation letter from the respective institution.

4. Students Ineligible for the Scholarship:

(a) Students studying in colleges/schools/empanelled schools run on the budget of the Welfare Fund (including colleges run under the Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences).

(b) Children of beneficiaries who are currently availing educational facilities in empanelled institutions.

(c) Students who do not submit proper documents and applications within the stipulated time.

5. Documents to be Submitted with the Application (Mandatory):

(a) Photocopy of pension slips of both mother and child (one each).
(b) Photocopy of death certificate (one).
(c) Recommendation letter from the local Village Development Committee/Municipality/Ward where the single mother resides (one).
(d) Photocopy of relationship certificate (one).
(e) Photocopy of child's birth certificate (one).
(f) Photocopy of mark sheet (one).
(g) Photocopy of character certificate (one).
(h) If the results of the annual exam for the academic year 2080 (2023-2024) have not been published yet, a recommendation letter from the school along with a photocopy of the admit card.
(i) If the student has previously received this scholarship, the Welfare Registration Number (file number) mentioned on the last page of the green pension slip must be included.

6. Application Submission Location and Deadline:

(a) Date: From Jestha 9, 2081 (May 22, 2024) to Shrawan 31, 2081 (August 15, 2024).

(b) Location: For those residing within the Kathmandu Valley, applications should be submitted to the Army Welfare Directorate, Jangi Adda.

For those residing outside the Kathmandu Valley, applications can be submitted to the nearest Nepali Army Unit/Formation.

7. Other Information:

(a) Departments, directorates, offices, directorates, brigade HQs, battalion HQs, companies, platoons, and units are requested to conduct a preliminary selection on the applications received as per the aforementioned points and forward them to the Army Welfare Directorate by Bhadra 7, 2081 (August 31, 2024).

8. The objective of the Army Welfare Directorate is to ensure that the aforementioned scholarship reaches the deserving individuals and provide them with educational opportunities. A system will be in place to discourage applicants with malicious intent by informing the concerned authorities in a timely manner.
