As per the notice, students who appeared in the municipal-level Grade 8 examination in 2082 and secured grades, as well as students who participated in the SEE examination in 2082 and obtained grades, are eligible to apply for the scholarship selection examination.

Eligibility criteria

Eligible applicants include:

  • Students who participated in the municipal-level Grade 8 examination in 2082 and received a minimum 1.6 GPA
  • Students who appeared in the SEE examination in 2082 and secured a minimum 1.6 GPA
  • Students from community schools passing Grade 8 must submit a community school opening Schedule 1 recommendation letter
  • Students from community schools passing SEE must submit a community school opening Schedule 1 recommendation letter
  • Applicants must be permanent residents of Birgunj Metropolitan City (proof of birth registration, citizenship, or residency required)
  • Reserved category applicants must provide relevant documentary proof as specified

Only eligible students are permitted to participate in the scholarship selection examination.

Selection process

  • The selection examination will be objective (written), based on subject matter
  • For both Class 9 and Class 11: subjects include Mathematics, Science, English, and Nepali, 25 marks each
  • Class 9 written exam will be based on the Grade 8 curriculum
  • Class 11 written exam will be based on the Grade 10 curriculum
  • A minimum of 40% marks is required to pass the scholarship examination

Application process

All eligible students must complete the online application at scholarship.birgunjmun.gov.np within the designated timeline.

Applicants are advised to:

  • Determine and select their desired school at the time of filling the form (this cannot be changed later)
  • Fill out all details accurately and preview before final submission
  • Edit details before submission using the Edit Button if needed; no changes are possible after submission
  • Click the Submit Button to finalize. A confirmation box will appear, after which the form will be submitted online
  • Print or download the Confirmation Page after submission.
  • This is not an Admit Card; it is only proof of online form submission. An Admit Card is mandatory to sit for the examination
  • A Final Confirmation SMS will be sent after the form is received and verified by the main office

Late applications will not be accepted after the closing date and time.

Required documents for online application

Applicants must upload the following documents:

  • Passport-sized photograph
  • Citizenship certificate or birth registration certificate
  • Character certificate, transfer certificate, or school recommendation letter
  • Proof of permanent residency in Birgunj Metropolitan City (birth registration, citizenship, or residency certificate)
  • For reserved category applicants: relevant proof as per the applicable reservation category
  • For Class 9 applicants: Grade 8 grade sheet
  • For Class 9 applicants from community schools: community school opening Schedule 1 recommendation letter
  • For Class 11 applicants from community schools: community school opening Schedule 1 recommendation letter (for SEE passed students)

Reservation provision

Reservation arrangements shall be governed by the Birgunj Metropolitan City Institutional School Scholarship Distribution Guidelines, 2075. For reserved categories, required documentation includes:

  • Persons with disabilities: Disability ID card
  • Martyrs' families / People's Movement victims: Certified documents from Home Ministry, Chief Minister's Office, or District Administration Office
  • Janajati / Dalit: Documents from the District Administration Office or the relevant body
  • Madhesh Movement victims: Certified documents from the relevant authority

Important information

  • The metropolitan office has stated that detailed information regarding the scholarship program has been attached along with the official notice
  • Photographs and other required documents can be uploaded via mobile phone; both ears must be clearly visible in the uploaded photo
  • After the form is submitted, details can only be corrected or updated via an SMS request to the metropolitan office. No self-correction is possible after submission
  • Students, parents, schools, and all concerned stakeholders are requested to carefully review all instructions, eligibility provisions, and procedures before applying
