Youth Initiative (YI) Award was launched in 2004 for the first time on 12 August marking the International Youth Day to strengthen, support, and celebrate the role of young people in leading positive change in their communities. Each year, exceptional young social entrepreneurs are honored with ‘Youth Initiative Award' following a competitive application process. Since its inauguration, YI Award has produced over 30 alumni who worked/are working in different social issues through their innovative ideas.

With the strong belief that 'Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow but are also partners of today', Youth Initiative recognizes young people as change makers and agents of social transformation and hence encourages them to take leadership to bring about positive changes in the societies they live in while growing to their fullest potential.

This year, Youth Initiative Award is named as Integrity Award, which is a part of its continuous effort to fight against corruption. Hence the award seeks out the Nepal's most promising youth advocates who have the potential to make a big impact against corruption. Tell us why and how you want to fight against corruption. Maybe it is an idea that shows promise, and which could be rolled out on a broader scale for greater social impact.
