The much-anticipated futsal tournament, now rebranded as the Shrijay Memorial ICT Cup in honor of the late Mr. Shrijay Tuladhar, former president of the Prime IT Club, is returning for a thrilling second edition. Organized by the Prime IT Club—a dynamic, student-led initiative of Prime College—this event promises a vibrant blend of camaraderie, competition, and a refreshing break for the IT community. Scheduled for January 12 and 19, 2025, at United Futsal, Bafal, it’s set to be two days of exhilarating action.
A Break from the Digital Grind
With the motto “Break From Tech,” the Shrijay Memorial ICT Cup offers IT professionals across Kathmandu Valley a much-needed respite from their daily routines. It’s an opportunity to swap keyboards for cleats, escape the pressures of coding and deadlines, and celebrate sportsmanship and community.
This year’s tournament will feature 16 fierce teams competing in a knockout format. The top eight will advance to the quarterfinals, which will lead to high-stakes semifinals and a nail-biting final on Day 2. The stakes are significant, with the winning team taking home Rs. 40,000 while the runner-up secures Rs. 20,000.
Will Cloudfactory Reign Supreme?
The defending champions, Cloudfactory, are back to defend their title, but the competition promises to be intense. Last year’s runner-up, Rumsan, is eager to claim the top spot this time.
