Semicolon, the international three-day residential hackathon led by King’s College, Babarmahal students, concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impression on participants and attendees alike. Hosted at King’s College, Babarmahal, the event culminated in a grand closing ceremony at Leapfrog Technology, Dillibazar.
This landmark event marked a significant milestone for King’s College in its journey towards fostering innovation, technology, and global collaboration. Semicolon brought together 116 participants, organized into 27 teams, with 38 participants from outside the Kathmandu Valley, including two teams from India (Adamas University and Delhi Technological University). The 18-25 participants comprised high school graduates and undergraduate students eager to tackle real-world problems through technology and innovation.

The Semicolon Hackathon was Powered by YOLO Brand and Presented by Gokarneshwor Municipality and Samaya Rooftop Garden. It was Supported by Clock b Business Technology and GitHub, and Contributed by Jyoti Bikash Bank Limited, Bright Star Human Resource, and Wisdom Human Resources Pvt. Ltd. The Hospitality Partner for the event was Hotel Excelsior, and the Closing Event Venue Partner was Leapfrog Technology. CFMOTO served as the Automobile Partner, while Broadway Infosys was the Training Partner. Edusanjal supported the event as the Education Partner, and Major League Hacking (MLH) contributed as the Event Partner. Additionally, the hackathon featured 5 Judges, 10 Mentors, and 11 Community Partners, fostering a rich environment for learning, collaboration, and innovation.
Highlights of the Event:
One of the major highlights of Semicolon was its emphasis on global collaboration. The hackathon served as a platform for cross-border interaction, with Indian and Nepali participants working together to develop innovative solutions.
Another key aspect was community-centric solutions. Participants were challenged to address real-world community problems, leading to the development of impactful prototype solutions that could be further refined for real-world application.
The event was also engaging and enriching. It featured mentorship sessions, expert feedback, and networking opportunities, which provided participants with holistic growth and learning experiences, helping them refine their skills and expand their professional networks.
