National College joyfully celebrated its 29th Anniversary on May 23, 2025, marking nearly three decades of commitment to transformative education in Nepal. Established in 1996 and affiliated with Kathmandu University, the college has become a cornerstone in the fields of development and social sciences.
The anniversary event brought together students, faculty, alumni, and distinguished guests for a vibrant celebration filled with music, cultural performances, drama, poetry, and the much-anticipated Sports Week awards distribution ceremony. A lively bingo session added a festive touch to the occasion.
Reflecting on the college’s journey, its longstanding vision to empower youth through quality education has been impeccable. Since its inception, over 1,300 students have proudly graduated from the college, many of whom have gone on to excel in NGOs, financial institutions, and policy think tanks, contributing actively to Nepal’s progress and the achievement of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The college offers innovative academic programs tailored to address real-world challenges, including the Bachelor in Development Studies (BDevS) launched in 1999, the Bachelor in Development Finance (BDFin) since 2006, the Bachelor of Social Sciences (BoSS) introduced in 2013 and the Bachelor of Psychology (BPsych), the latest addition since 2023. These programs are designed to nurture socially responsible, analytical, and globally aware graduates ready to make meaningful change.
National College is dedicated to broaden its global impact in the coming year through strategic partnerships such as the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Center and the South Asia Foundation. The college aims to enhance international collaboration and expand opportunities for students to engage with critical issues at both national and global levels.
As the institution steps confidently into its 30th year, it remains committed to its mission to shape visionary leaders equipped to contribute to Nepal’s development and beyond.
