The Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus recently hosted a memorable event titled “Make a Wish”, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of 16 young children from Anmol Children Development Home. Held at Meroma Restaurant, the heartwarming initiative focused on spreading joy, fostering creativity, and promoting inclusivity while aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

The event brought together children aged 7 to 10, volunteers, and organizing committee members for a day filled with love, learning, and laughter. The children were warmly welcomed as they arrived at the venue, setting the tone for a truly magical day.

Highlights of the Event

Storytelling by Baakhan Nyane Waa

A captivating storytelling session conducted by Baakhan Nyane Waa, an organization specializing in live storytelling, was one of the key highlights of the day. The children were transported into enchanting worlds through beautifully illustrated storybooks, sparking joy and imagination. For the volunteers and organizing team, the session rekindled childhood memories, creating a heartwarming atmosphere of shared experiences.

Creativity Through Color

The children were gifted Yenya Colouring Books by Baakhan Nyane Waa, encouraging them to explore their creativity through vibrant illustrations. This activity not only nurtured their artistic skills but also gave them a cherished keepsake to remember the day.

Face Painting and Culinary Delights

Adding to the festivities was a lively face-painting session where the children’s faces lit up with colorful designs of animals, superheroes, and fantastical creatures. The fun continued with a delicious meal of Chowmein and Momo, courtesy of Meroma Restaurant, fostering camaraderie and joyous interactions between the children and the organizing team.

Planting Dreams for the Future

The day concluded with a symbolic activity—each child planted a sapling in a small pot, representing growth and care for the environment. They also wrote letters to their future selves, encouraging them to dream big and stay hopeful.
