The Job Fair 2025 has successfully concluded at Kathmandu Model College (KMC), Bagbazar. The event saw participation from 45 companies and drew nearly 400 undergraduate and postgraduate students from various colleges.
A panel discussion titled "Career Campus – Navigating Smart Career Choices in the Age of Automation and Remote Work" was held during the fair. Sashyam Joshi from CloudFactory emphasized the importance of not limiting oneself to university curricula but focusing on globally relevant technologies. He stressed the importance of honesty in the use of AI and encouraged students to articulate their ideas clearly.
Similarly, Aditi Goel from Learn Infinity highlighted that individuals aiming to enter the global market must acquire at least a basic understanding of relevant subjects. She emphasized the need for continuous upskilling and domain expertise to establish oneself successfully.
Another panelist, Surendra Subedi, the Principal of Kathmandu Model College, shared that KMC is striving to deliver education that aligns with global market demands. He emphasized the importance of providing timely, technology-friendly education that extends beyond the university syllabus and producing students who meet current market requirements. The panel discussion, moderated by Kritika Munankarmi, head of the KMC Corporate Reach-Out Club, lasted approximately one hour.
Participating students engaged in discussions and interviews with representatives from companies of their interest, gaining valuable insights into employment opportunities. According to Mr. Dhruba Prasad Timalsina, Head of Internal Quality Assurance at the college, students from within the KMC network and other colleges, including those currently pursuing or having completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies, took part in the job fair.
Students reported that the event was highly beneficial. Participating companies represented various sectors, including banking, hospitality, education, insurance, engineering, IT services, and manufacturing.
