IMS College successfully organized a Business Model Canvas Session as part of the Hult Prize initiative, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial thinking among students. The session featured esteemed guests, including Saroj Upadhya, Director of IMS College and Founder Member of NMA; Gopal Shrestha, Marketing Director at Arksh Food; and Kripa Tandukar, Content Creator at Arksh Food.

The event was made possible with support from various sponsors, including Arksh Food, Mithila Things, Sun Securities, NMB Bank, Jam Pauroti, S Café, Jyoti Bikash Bank, Real Brust, Global Tailoring, Lava Lounge and Bar, K Team, Creative Link, Proshore, and Ideapreneur Nepal.

The session began with host Anuska Phuljel welcoming the distinguished guests and participants. The highlight of the program was a comprehensive workshop on the Business Model Canvas conducted by Saroj Upadhya, who outlined key factors critical to launching a successful business. He emphasized essential components such as:

  • Identifying the target audience
  • Defining the value proposition (quality, innovation)
  • Selecting effective market channels
  • Establishing strong customer relationships
  • Analyzing revenue streams, key resources, key partnerships, and cost structures

To enhance learning, Upadhya illustrated these concepts using real-life examples of revenue models and market strategies adopted by successful Nepali companies. Participants then created their own business model canvases on chart paper, applying the insights to their ideas.

The event also included a Vision Wall Board competition, where the winner had the opportunity to select a team to pitch their idea using the business model canvas framework. Teams enthusiastically presented their innovative concepts, fostering a dynamic entrepreneurial atmosphere.

The session concluded with a speech from Gopal Shrestha, who shared insights into Arksh Food’s commitment to customer orientation, product quality, and innovative design. He also expressed the company's continued support for IMS College’s Hult Prize On-Campus journey.

Overall, the session provided invaluable hands-on experience, helping students transform raw concepts into actionable and sustainable business ideas.
