The Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, hosted the fourth session of the Entrepreneur Talk Series, “Tools in Social Entrepreneurship,” at Embark College. The event aimed to equip aspiring changemakers with practical tools and methodologies for thriving in the dynamic field of social entrepreneurship.
Commencing at 1:00 PM, the program began with a traditional Khada presentation by Miss Riyaj Nepal, Campus Director of Hult at IOE, Pulchowk Campus. Miss Saisha Shrestha, Outreach and Partnership Lead, warmly welcomed a diverse audience, including students, young entrepreneurs, professionals, and social enterprise enthusiasts. The event served as a hub of inspiration, uniting attendees under the shared goal of addressing societal challenges through innovation and sustainability.
Insights from Inspiring Speakers
Two distinguished speakers, Miss Preeti Adhikary and Mr. Aabhushan Jyoti Kansakar, shared their journeys and insights, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Miss Preeti Adhikary, founder of The Great Nepali Diaspora, captivated attendees with her two-decade-long experience spanning tech startups, banking, and nonprofits. Her organization’s initiatives, including 18 chapters, nine hubs, and over 150 events, illustrate the potential of global collaboration. Preeti emphasized leveraging technology to scale impact and encouraged participants to apply startup methodologies, such as creating Minimum Viable Products, to test ideas efficiently. Her work as General Partner at Momo VC and founder of Empowered Women further highlighted her commitment to fostering innovation and gender equity.
Miss Adhikary was honored with a handcrafted wooden token of appreciation from CNC Kasthakala Nepal, a plant from The Plant Room Nepal, aromatic perfume from Call Me Aroma, and refreshments from Kantipur Coffee.
Mr. Aabhushan Jyoti Kansakar, CEO of Jeevee Nepal and leader of six subsidiaries under the DebaJyoti Group, delivered an equally inspiring talk. He shared his entrepreneurial journey, marked by resilience and strategic vision while highlighting the importance of fostering a collaborative ecosystem. His ventures, from trade to lifestyle products, showcase entrepreneurship’s potential to drive economic growth and create societal impact.
Aabhushan emphasized adaptability and forward-thinking strategies for navigating competitive markets, underscoring the importance of aligning business goals with societal progress. The event's sponsors also presented him with a token of appreciation and gifts.
