Embark College was abuzz with anticipation as students and entrepreneurs gathered for the second session of the Entrepreneurship Talk Series, organized by Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus. Under the theme UNLIMITED, the session aimed to equip participants with effective team-building and collaboration strategies.
The program commenced at 1 PM, with Mr. Nipurna Shrestha, PR and Media Manager of Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, hosting the event. The hall quickly filled with both pre-registered and walk-in attendees eager to gain insights from two distinguished speakers.
Electrifying Insights from Santosh Pandey
The first speaker, Mr. Santosh Pandey, co-founder of Offering Happiness and Oho Cake, delivered a dynamic talk on team dynamics. A Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honoree, Mr. Pandey shared valuable lessons from his experience as an entrepreneur, political strategist, and educator.
Welcomed with a traditional Khada, he captivated the audience with practical strategies on finding the right co-founder, fostering collaboration, and overcoming failure. He emphasized the importance of aligning team goals and cultivating an environment where members inspire each other toward excellence.
Mr. Pandey's session covered essential aspects of team building, offering insights into identifying ideal co-founders and navigating setbacks. His engaging storytelling made these significant life lessons both entertaining and impactful for attendees.
To honor his contributions, Mr. Pandey received a handcrafted wooden token of appreciation from CNC Hastakala Nepal, a plant from The Plant Room Nepal, and a delicious sandwich from Kantipur Coffee, the event's food sponsor.
Priyanshu Pokhrel Advocates for Social Change
The second session featured Miss Priyanshu Pokhrel, co-founder of Pyari Education and an advocate for data-driven solutions to social challenges. A junior at Wesleyan University majoring in Economics and Data Science, she shared her journey in establishing Pyari Education, an initiative tackling taboos surrounding sexual and reproductive health in Nepal.
Miss Pokhrel introduced her team members and detailed Pyari’s formation and mission. She spoke passionately about her motivation to address menstrual health and sex education issues in Nepal, emphasizing that passion—not monetary gain—should drive one’s pursuits.
She also highlighted the challenges of assembling the right team and encouraged audience members interested in supporting this cause to reach out. Like Mr. Pandey, she was honored with a wooden token of appreciation, a plant, and refreshments from event sponsors.
Engagement and Lasting Impact
The event featured an interactive Q&A session, during which participants actively engaged and won discount coupons from Botanical Bites. The session concluded with both speakers recording 100-second videos, facilitated by Mr. Hritesh Rai, the team’s Content Creator, for the Hult Prize on IOE’s official social media platforms.
