Service excursions are a great method for students to get leadership experience while helping out in their communities. The trips immerse students, instructors, and staff in communities, allowing them to help solve community needs without imposing their ideas on others. Before, during, and after a service trip, students engage in conscious thought to clarify ideas, uncover links to academic work, and enhance their identities as engaged citizens. One of the most effective ways to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in the field of social work is to volunteer.
The students of Aksharaa School, Kageshwori, Manohara-9, Kandaghari, Kathmandu went for a nine-day Service Learning Trip to Syangja. The program is conducted every year according to the school philosophy Sanskaryukta Shiksha, giving priority to serving humanity as its action plan. The major objective is to conduct community service at Community Schools in Bhedabari, Syangja which is followed by awareness campaigns.
Aksharaa School has been focusing on volunteering and community service as a part of its outreach program to support and contribute to the local community of Homestay at Bhedabari, and also to develop real-life learning skills in students since the past 5 years. They have been actively engaging in the community service at Syangja district. Our learners also donated learning materials to the students of the community schools.
