University Grants Commission (UGC), Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, Nepal calls for Journal submission to classify scientific journals published in Nepal.
University Grants Commission announces a call for applications from scientific journals published in Nepal to submit their journals for classification by the "Guidelines for the Minimum Standards and Classification of Peer-Reviewed Journals Published in Nepal, 2018". This initiative is aimed at promoting quality and transparency in academic publishing in Nepal and elevating the standards of peer-reviewed journals.
Eligibility
All scientific journals published continuously for at least last three years in Nepal are eligible to apply for classification. Journals are encouraged to review the guidelines to ensure they meet the required criteria for submission.
Classification Criteria
The classification will be based on, the criteria outlined in Guidelines for the Minimum Standards and Classification of Peer-Reviewed Journals Published in Nepal, 2018, which include:
- Peer Review Process
- Quality and Originality of Content
- Editorial Board and Expertise
- Publication Frequency and Regularity
- Visibility and online presence
- Indexing
Submission Process
To submit your journal for classification, please provide the following documentation:
- A cover letter expressing your intent to participate.
- Complete information about the journal as indicated in the journal information form
- A description of your peer-review process
- Copy of or link to last three volumes/issues

The deadline for journal submissions is Mangsir 24, 2080 (December 10, 2023). Please ensure that all required documents are submitted by this date.
