The Institute of Science and Technology at Tribhuvan University has reported a significant rise in the enrollment of postgraduate students compared to the previous academic year.

The institute, renowned for its diverse offerings, administers entrance exams for 19 different subjects, witnessing a noteworthy uptick in the number of candidates participating in these exams as opposed to the previous year.

The recently held entrance exam on Poush 27 saw a substantial turnout, with a total of 1,712 students vying for admissions. Last year, a total of 1,480 students actively engaged in various programs offered by the institute.

According to official sources, there has been a commendable 13.5% surge in student participation across all programs, marking a positive trend compared to the previous academic session.

Breaking down the numbers, the entrance exams attracted candidates from diverse fields, with 13 students applying for BE, 37 for Biotechnology, 97 for Botany, 243 for Chemistry, 44 for Engineering Geology, 122 for Environmental Science, 30 for Food Technology, 49 for Geology, 22 for Hydro and Meteorology, 8 for Msc, 68 for Mathematics, 87 for MDS., 147 for Microbiology, 154 for MIT., 368 for Physics, 29 for Statistics, and 81 for Geology.
