Tribhuvan University, Office of the Controller of Examinations (TU OCE) Balkhu has opened applications form for chance examination of first and second year of Master's level as well as for the first, second, third and fourth year of 3/4-year bachelor's level (Humanities, Management, Education, Law faculties and Institute of Science and Technology) under the annual examination system conducted by TU in 2081 BS.

Key Details:

  • Application starting for both Master's and Bachelor’s degree on: 2081 Magh 24 (Feb 6, 2025)
  • Application deadline both Master and Bachelor’s degree: 2081 Falgun 23 (March 7, 2025)
  • For Master's level: 1st and 2nd 
  • For Bachelor's level : 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year 
  • Stream: Humanities, Management, Education, Law faculties and Institute of Science and Technology 

All the concerned examinees who are attending the chance examination are required to fill up the form in their respective campuses within the given deadline with their regular fees. Applicants can submit the forms with double fees within one week in case of an expiry of the regular deadline.

Things to be considered before Applying Chance Examination

1. Regarding the Exam Application Form:
a) The exam application form must be filled out by the student themselves, completing all the procedures, and submitted to the concerned office. Tribhuvan University, Office of the Controller of Examinations will not be responsible for any discrepancies.

b) In case a duplicate copy of the admit card is required during the examination period, the same photo used in the exam application form must be submitted.

c) All the examinees who have missed the deadline of 3/4-year Bachelor's degree and also those examinees who already enrolled Master's degree in 2056 BS but have not attend the first year's examination can attend the exam.

2. Subject Selection:

In the exam application form, examinees should fill form the subject in accordance to the rules and curriculum of TU (only those subjects which college has received approval) and also sit for the examination accordingly.

If this is not followed and the examination is canceled or the candidate is deprived of the transcript, the candidate or the college itself will be responsible.

3. Mandatory things for Filling and Processing the Exam Application Form:
a) While filling out the exam form, the candidate must compulsorily mention the exam roll number that was made for the first time in the first year.

b) Candidates must compulsorily mention the Tribhuvan University registration number in the exam application form.

c) For filling out the exam application form, two recent passport-size photographs (in normal attire) are required.

d) The exam application form of the college's candidates must be signed by the college head compulsorily, ensuring it covers each exam application form and photograph filled by the student, before submitting it to this office by the concerned college.

e) While submitting the exam forms to the concerned Office of the Controller of Examinations, a certified copy of the consolidated form with the subject-wise data, including the list of candidates, (Printed copy and Soft Copy) must be submitted compulsorily.

f) During the exam form submission, a letter stating the full fee details including the candidate's name and the heading of the examination fee, along with the bank voucher, should be submitted to the form section at the concerned Office of the Controller of Examinations only after verification from the accounts branch.

g) All the colleges within and outside the Kathmandu valley must submit the bank voucher of the exam fee within 2 days of the expiry of the first deadline, otherwise, double fee will be charged.

h) After the expiry of the double fee deadline, all the colleges must submit the exam application forms to the concerned Office of the Controller of Examinations within 2 days with the bank voucher of the double fee after making the bank voucher of the double fee separately.

i) After the exam forms are submitted, the concerned office will verify and approve them.

4. Reminder to Private Chance Examinees:

a) Private examinees can also submit their exam application forms by contacting the regional office of the TU Controller of Examinations that is convenient for them.
b) Regional Examination Controller Office, Biratnagar.
c) Regional Examination Controller Office, Pokhara.
d) Regional Examination Controller Office, Kohalpur, Banke.
e) Regional Examination Controller Office, Attariya, Kailali.

Examination Fees and Payment Procedures

a) Fee per subject for Bachelor's Level candidates: Rs. 1500/-
b) Fee per subject for Master's Level candidates: Rs. 2000/-
c) Exam Application Form Fee: Rs. 100/-
d) Exam Center Fee per subject: Rs. 150/-
e) Fee for Practical Examination per subject: Rs. 200/-
f) Practical Examination Fee for two or more subjects: Rs 300/-
g) Field Work, Term Paper, and Project Work Fee: Rs. 300/-h) Teaching Practice Fee: Rs. 350/- (Out of which Rs. 50 must be deposited at the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Balkhu, Rs. 150 at Dean of Faculty of Education, and Rs. 150 in the account section of the concerned campus).

6. Regarding Examination Fee Payment:

a) Campuses within Kathmandu Valley must deposit the examination fees in the Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur/Balkhu premises-based Global IME Bank Limited's Revenue Account No. 05010100000500 or Nepal Bank Limited Revenue Account No. 04500100099108000001 and submit the voucher of the deposited amount along with the exam application form compulsorily in the name of TU OCE.

b) Campuses under the Regional Examination Controller Office, Pokhara, must deposit the entire examination fee in the Nepal Bank Limited, Bagar Branch, Account No. 09100101101340000001 under Tribhuvan University Regional Examination Controller Office, Pokhara, and submit the voucher of the deposited amount along with the exam application form compulsorily.

c) Campuses under the Regional Examination Controller Office, Biratnagar, must deposit the entire examination fee in the Nepal Bank Limited’s Bajar Adda Branch account no. 10000100922120000001 under Tribhuvan University Regional Examination Controller Office, Biratnagar, and submit the voucher of the deposited amount along with the exam application form compulsorily.

d) Campuses under the Regional Examination Controller Office, Nepalgunj, must deposit the entire examination fee in the Global IME Bank Limited at Vibhushan Chowk, Banke’ s account no. 2101010000076 under Tribhuvan University Regional Examination Controller Office, Nepalgunj, and submit the voucher of the deposited amount along with the exam application form compulsorily.

e) In the case of the Attariya region, the campuses must deposit the examination fees in the Global IME Bank Limited's Revenue Account No. 05010100000500 or Nepal Bank Limited's Revenue Account No. 04500100099108000001 located within the premises of Kathmandu Valley TU OCE and submit the voucher of the deposited amount along with the exam application form compulsorily in the name of TU OCE.
