Three vice-chancellors have been appointed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for universities across various regions of the country. The appointments come as significant decisions in the realm of higher education administration.
The appointments include Prof. Dr. Keshar Singh Rana for Mid-West University, Associate Professor Karna Bahadur Thapa for Far Western University, and Dr. Shailesh Mani Pokharel for Purbanchal University. These appointments signify the government's commitment to enhancing the quality and efficiency of higher education institutions across the nation.
The tenure of the previous vice-chancellors of these universities expired on Falgun 19th, prompting the need for new appointments. While advertisements were published to facilitate the selection process through open competition, the advertisement for two universities was temporarily halted.
Despite receiving 18 applications for the vice-chancellor position at Purbanchal University, the selection committee has not yet made the shortlist public. However, it is reported that applicants have submitted comprehensive vision papers and four-year work plans as part of their applications.
The appointments reflect the government's emphasis on meritocracy and the importance of effective leadership in the realm of education. The new vice-chancellors are expected to bring fresh perspectives and initiatives to their respective universities, driving progress and innovation in higher education.
