The twelfth convocation ceremony of Purbanchal University concluded on April 26, 2024 (Baisakh 14, 2081). During the ceremony, 7856 students who had completed their studies across various faculties were conferred with degrees.
Narayan Dhungana was honored with the 'Gold Medal' during the convocation ceremony. The Chancellor of the University, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', presented the medal to Dhungana for his outstanding academic performance at the post-graduate level in mass communication and journalism.
Dhungana, a student of the 'Batch 2020' from Kantipur City College, achieved the highest CGPA of 3.75.
Additionally, 82 undergraduate and 76 postgraduate students from the Faculty of Arts, 264 undergraduates and 107 postgraduates from the Law Faculty, 636 undergraduates and 167 postgraduates from the Education Faculty, and 1,542 graduates from the Management Faculty were awarded convocation degrees. Furthermore, 760 postgraduates and three MPhil degrees were conferred.
The university initiated 634 students in the Faculty of Science and Technology and 52 postgraduates. Moreover, 892 individuals were initiated into the Engineering Faculty and 108 into master's programs.
A total of 2,463 degrees were conferred to graduates from the Faculty of Medicine, along with 15 postgraduate degrees.
During the event, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' acknowledged the top-performing students and assured continuous government support for the university's welfare and development, emphasizing the importance of quality education.
Prime Minister Dahal also inaugurated a newly constructed building for the MBBS educational program on April 26.
The chief guest, former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, educationist, and former ambassador Kedarbhakta Mathema, graced the ceremony with his presence.
Dr. Shaileshmani Pokharel, the Vice Chancellor of the University, highlighted the university's commitment to gradually expanding its educational and research scope based on the needs and priorities of the community.
The university, established in 2052 under the initiative of then Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, offers courses such as Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, Agriculture, and Forestry at its central office in Gothgaon.
