The British College Earns UNESCO Recognition for Green Education Leadership

The British College (TBC) has officially been recognized as a member of the Greening Education Partnership, a global initiative under UNESCO's Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) framework. This partnership aims to address the climate crisis through education, fostering the personal and societal transformations necessary for a sustainable future.

TBC received this prestigious accolade for its outstanding work on the BBA: Innovate for Impact (IFI) project, demonstrating the institution's strong commitment to green education and sustainability. The recognition came after a rigorous evaluation, confirming that TBC's efforts in promoting green education met the highest standards.

This achievement is particularly significant as TBC becomes the only educational institution in Nepal to receive this honor, establishing itself as a leader in sustainable education.

With this recognition, TBC will gain access to UNESCO’s extensive resources, including knowledge bases, event participation, and mentorship opportunities. The college will also have the chance to expand its network and build connections with other United Nations agencies.

Sunita Basnet, Head of the Sustainability Unit and the BBA: Innovate for Impact project, expressed her gratitude, stating, "This achievement is a testament to our collaborative approach as a school. The entire institution shares a common vision of sustainability and green education, and together, we will celebrate this significant milestone as we further cement our role in promoting sustainability."

This recognition marks a new chapter for The British College, positioning it at the forefront of sustainable education and inspiring other institutions to follow its lead.
