In Nepal, two universities and three health science academies offer undergraduate medical education (MBBS program). Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University offer MBBS programs through their constituent and affiliated medical colleges, while BPKIHS and PAHS run their in-house MBBS programs, which include their own curriculum, independent syllabus, entrance examination, and examination patterns.

MBBS program was started in Nepal in 1978 enrolling 22 students. Now every year more than 1895 students get enroll for the MBBS degree.
