Softwarica's Hult Prize On-Campus Winner Advances to Melbourne Regional Summit

The On-Campus round of the Hult Prize at Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce, a renowned global competition that fosters social entrepreneurship, has recently concluded. By harnessing inventive ideas for social entrepreneurship, the event successfully united a varied assembly of students, entrepreneurs, and mentors with the aim of tackling urgent global issues. The victorious team of the competition will be granted $1 million in seed funding to kickstart their social enterprise and make a lasting, sustainable difference.

Softwarica College, led by the remarkable Campus Director Swopnil Bista, organized a remarkable sequence of events for the Hult Prize 2022-23. With the participation of more than 30 teams, the competition facilitated interactions with over 10 Nepali entrepreneurs, who shared invaluable guidance and expertise. Following a thorough evaluation, five teams emerged as finalists, vying for the prestigious title of On-Campus Winner.

The Regional Summit, held in multiple locations worldwide, including Melbourne, serves as a global platform for victorious teams to showcase their ideas. In Melbourne, "The Dhaka Palette," comprised of the talented individuals Basanta Adhikari, Anisha Malla, Garima Shrestha, and Saharsh KC, presented their groundbreaking concept of "Redesigning Fashion." Their visionary approach involves leveraging AI technology to incorporate traditional Dhaka Fabric into everyday clothing, incorporating the latest design patterns. Furthermore, their idea extends to offering upcycling and recycling services to their target market. This initiative stems from a profound respect for tradition, empowerment, and sustainability.

The Hult Prize at Softwarica College exemplifies the institution's commitment to cultivating social entrepreneurship and promoting sustainable solutions to worldwide problems. This competition plays a crucial role in empowering the upcoming generation of catalysts for change by offering a platform for young social entrepreneurs.
