SEE 2080 to Follow Letter Grading Directive 2078

The National Examinations Board has declared its decision to conduct the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) this year in accordance with the Letter Grading Directive 2078 BS, marking a shift in the evaluation process for grade ten students.

Scheduled to take place from March 28 to April 09 of the year 2080 BS, the SEE will see students navigating through the examination based on the new curriculum, and the results will be published following the Letter Grading Directives 2078 BS. This move is aimed at streamlining the assessment process and aligning it with modern educational standards.

According to Board Chair Dr Mahashram Sharma, students participating in the SEE must adapt to the new system, where obtaining a minimum of 27 marks in theory out of 75 marks will be a prerequisite for eligibility to pursue higher studies. Those failing to secure this minimum score will fall into the Non-Graded category and won't be allowed to enroll in class 11.

In cases of failure to meet the minimum requirements, students will have the opportunity to sit for chance exams in two subjects for up to three times. This provision seeks to provide students with a fair chance to improve their performance and progress in their academic journey.

SEE Examinations Controller Nandalal Paudel disclosed that a total of 489,000 students, comprising both regular participants and those seeking grade improvement, are expected to appear for the upcoming SEE. The implementation of the grading system in grades 11 and 12 has already been set in motion by the Board, underscoring a broader initiative to enhance the overall educational evaluation process.

Preparations for the SEE are in full swing, with the Board focusing on critical aspects such as the printing of question papers, logistical arrangements, and the identification of examination centers. These meticulous preparations are indicative of the Board's commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient conduct of the SEE, a crucial examination for students transitioning to higher education.
