Professor Mary Bishop, former Director of Learning at ACCA, recently appointed as the Executive Principal of The British College.
In the words from Prof. Mary herself:
“As an ACCA qualified accountant myself, my whole career has benefited from being a qualified accountant. Working in leadership roles at Hewlett Packard Research Laboratories, a number of universities and professional body, the knowledge and skills provided by ACCA has been hugely important.
Current circumstances are difficult worldwide, the impact of the pandemic and climate change are far reaching. I believe having a professional qualification which demonstrates the ability to not only undertake accounting and auditing, but also analytics, digital modelling, fintech, creative business modelling and leadership will prepare students for a really good career in a changing world.
The ACCA professional and technical skills will allow students to adapt to new and emerging industries, like agritech, new and emerging roles around governance, business partnering and digital infrastructure. I am delighted by the success the British Professional College has already demonstrated and look forward to its continuing, future success.”
