Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University, Balendra Shah, appointed Prof. Dr. Khatiwada as Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University on Wednesday based on the recommendation of the University's Vice-Chancellor Recommendation and Selection Committee.
Earlier, the committee had shortlisted five candidates for the position: Rishiram Regmi, Kartikeya Jha, Guruprasad Subedi, Prof. Dr. Bhim Prasad Khatiwada, and Mukunda Prasad Lamichhane.
According to the university's provisions, the Recommendation and Selection Committee recommends candidates to the Chancellor, who then appoints one of them as Vice-Chancellor.
Prof. Dr. Khatiwada will now lead Nepal Sanskrit University, overseeing its academic, administrative, and institutional affairs.
