Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has informed that the 'Education Bill' will be amended and passed in the federal parliament.

The Socialist Educational Forum organized a workshop today on 'Nepal's Educational Movement and Education Bill' where the Prime Minister expressed his intention to amend the bill to make it more prosperous.

The Prime Minister shared information in the parliament about discussions with coalition parties and the opposition regarding the bill based on proposals for amendments registered in parliament.

He emphasized the importance of incorporating suggestions from teachers, staff, educational unions, educators, students, associations, business sectors, and parents in the amendment process. The Prime Minister stated, "I have discussed this matter within the coalition and with the opposition. We are determined to reach a consensus."

Regarding the issues of school staff and teachers of primary education, the Prime Minister provided information about the seriousness with which he has taken the subject and the agreements reached in the past.

He said, "The issues of school staff and primary education teachers are also crucial. The government is cautious about addressing this. The government is committed to implementing the agreements and understandings reached with teacher organizations and business sectors in various phases in the past."

The Prime Minister stressed the need to create a positive discourse to prevent the intellectual exodus and emphasized the importance of placing the responsibility of competitive and quality human resource production in the global market by working centrally.

He stated, "To prevent the intellectual exodus seen in a disturbing form today, creating a positive discourse in the global market for competitive and quality human resource production is necessary. The government has worked on this task by placing it centrally."

The Prime Minister highlighted efforts to improve the education sector qualitatively by introducing rewards and meritocracy in universities.

He said, "I have announced the appointment of university positions based on 'meritocracy' and the establishment of a system of punishment and rewards in the education sector. The implementation of this will also take place. I expect this to rebuild trust in political and educational leadership among the general public and students."

During the program, spokespersons of the Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) emphasized that the debate on socialist education should be central to the discussion.
