Prez awards excellent students on Education Day

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday conferred on Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Awards and Nepal Chhatra Bidhya Awards to the students with outstanding performance at different levels at a function organised in the Office of the President on the occasion of the National Education Day.

On the occasion, 114 students were awarded from Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Award ‘A’, 82 students from Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Award ‘B’ and 16 students from Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Award ‘C’. Similarly, 25 students in the Bachelor’s Level and 17 students in the Certificate Level were presented with the Nepal Chhatra Bidhya Awards.


A total of 254 students were conferred on Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Awards and Nepal Chhatra Bidhya Awards. Addressing the programme, President Dr Yadav urged all to utilize their knowledge and skill achieved from the higher education for nation building.


President Dr Yadav said, “I have wished for the utilization of skill, knowledge, capacity and creativity for the country learned from the higher education at a time brain drain was being a problem of the country lately.” President said that the future society, politics, economic condition of the country depends on the education offered to the youth of the present time.


President said 11 per cent children were still out of school though the millennium development goal (MDG) promises to make all citizens literate by 2015 adding that most of the students drop out their schools before reaching the secondary level.On the occasion, Minister for Local Development Top Bahadur Rayamajhi said the educated human resources were not used for nation building though the country was producing the educated human resources.
