Passing Grade 12 Requires a Minimum of Thirty-five Percentage Score - NEB

A minimum score of 35% is compulsory to clear the Grade 12 exam, according to National Examinations Board (NEB).

The NEB is preparing to publish the results of the Grade 12 examination which was conducted in Jestha, 2079. The letter grading guidelines were revised the previous day when the SEE results of 2078 were announced. Accordingly, the board of grade 12 has clarified that it will be as per the new rules in grade 12.

Controller of Examinations Krishna Prasad Sharma mentioned that the students of grade 12 will be evaluated according to the provisions in the letter grading guidelines, and said, "In the guidelines, there is a provision in the certificates of those who have scored less than 35 percent as non-graded (NG). Therefore, we request you not to fall under the illusion that the result will be like that of SEE. Those who get less than 35 percent, even if they do not write failed in their certificate, they are practically failed.”  Those who get less than 35 percent will have to retake the exam.

He clarified that it is not possible to change the evaluation method as in the last SEE, stating that it is clearly mentioned in the guidelines that the results will be published according to the new rules and the new curriculum has also been implemented in Grade 12.

The board called a board meeting to announce the results of grade 12 on the day of Teej and hastily postponed the meeting after it was protested on social media. Exam controller Sharma mentioned that more work is being done to reduce all errors and said, "We will announce the results within this week. When the errors are reduced, the students will not have to suffer. Therefore, we request the students to be patient without haste."
