Edusanjal has named Pavitra Bahadur Gautam, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Karkhana, as the person of the month for February 2021.

Edusanjal has handed over a letter of commendation and a badge to Gautam during a function. Every month, Edusanjal honors one of the outstanding contributors in the education sector to encourage and commend their efforts.

Founded in 2012, Karkhana is a co-curricular after-school program with a unique approach to learning. The organization shows children creative ways of using science and technology to help them solve the problems in their own lives, in their community, in their country, and globally. Their workshops are designed to teach concepts from Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) all at once. Karkhana programs also operate in other countries in South Asia.

Karkhana now has a team of over 52 teachers, engineers, designers, artists, and scientists. Experimentation, collaboration, and play are the cornerstones of the organization. Even in its commercial pursuits, it remains true to these values.

Gautam, who has been emphasizing the need for hands-on learning believes that theoretical education alone is not enough for the children’s holistic development. He likes to call himself an engineer by education, an entrepreneur by profession, and an educator by passion. He is an active member of the Nepalese Young Entrepreneur Forum and former secretary-general of the Robotics Association of Nepal.
