‘One Student-One Laptop’ – an ambitious programme introduced by the government – has suffered much in the absence of effective monitoring.

Though the government took with special interest in the beginning of the innovative programme piloted in four schools of Lalitpur in 2065 BS, it has been relegated to the backburner with the government’s apathy these days.

Education through laptop has been affected when the monitoring is not carried out in a regular manner.

The government has handed over the responsibility of technical works and monitoring of the programme to Common Education Epati.

The side concerned has not shown any interest though the laptops provided to the students of Biswomitra Ganesh secondary school in Lubhu VDC have not been working for the past four months, said school management.

Principal of the school, Thakur Prasad Upadhyay said the government had launched this programme with high importance but could not handle its management as it should be.
