Three new Universities have completed preparations to organise their first assembly meeting three years after their establishment.

Agriculture and Forestry University, Far-Western University and Mid-Western University have completed the preparations for their assembly meeting. The assembly is regarded as the supreme body of the university.

Agriculture and Forestry University has fixed the date for the assembly meeting on September 20, Far-Western University on September 21 and Mid-Western University on September 23.

Curriculum of the new educational programmes to be run for the first time by the Universities will be endorsed and budget will also be presented in the assemblies.

Agriculture and Forestry University was established by merging Chitwan district based Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Rampur, and Makawanpur district based Hetauda Forestry Campus.

Similarly, Far-Western University was established by merging Siddhanath Science Campus and Siddhanath Multiple Campus.

Likewise, the Mid-Western University was established by merging Surkhet Campus, Birendranagar Multiple Campus and Public Science Campus, Surkhet.

Vice-Chancellors of the Universities complained that the Tribhuvan University has not provided necessary support including announcing of representatives for the assembly. They jointly said the date for the assembly has been fixed but the TU has not provided any support so far.
