Kathmandu University administration has asked Nepal University Teachers Association (NUTA) to form a 3 member committee to talk and solve all the issues raised by KUPA.

As per the request of Kathmandu University (KU), Nepal University Teachers Association (NUTA)— an umbrella organisation of professors’ associations from different universities — has formed a three-member committee to hold talks with the KU administration, regarding fulfilling the demands of Kathmandu University Professors’ Association (KUPA).

NUTA has already forwarded following names:

1. Mr Rameswar Upadhyaya - President, NUTA

2. Mr. Chiranjivi Sharma - Professor, Mahendra Ratna Campus, TU

3. Dr. Bibhuti Ranjan Jha - President, KUPA

According to Dr Bibhuti Ranjan Jha, even though KU administration has bypassed us, KUPA members are still happy to go into the process of dialogue as NUTA is an Umbrella organization of all the professors of the country and KUPA is its integral part.

Kathmandu University Professors’ Associations has been staging peaceful protest since July 25, demanding the termination of the appointment of dean of Science Faculty, initiation of the process of promotion and permanency of all who were ‘victimised unlawfully’, scientific salary hike and institutionalisation of KUPA.
